How to Share Your Story?

Author and Contributor Guidelines, Checklist and Agreements

We are delighted that you would like to be a part of the SheEvolves* storytelling community amplifying our collective voices as Black and Brown African women. The stories we share are broad and really defined by the fact that they are reflective of our human experiences – thought provoking and personal. We love any story that speaks about a life experience that has had a special meaning in a persons life as a woman of today’s world.

We would like to offer you some simple guidelines and a checklist for sending in your story. You may have some questions so please check out our Frequently Asked Question section to see if we have answered your query there.

We receive a lot of contributions from across Africa and the diaspora. Whilst we would love to be able to publish everyone’s work this is not always possible. We will always inform you if we are unable to publish. PLEASE do not see this as a rejection of your work but rather as an opportunity to publish somewhere else that may be more suited to your work.

As part of our community, we encourage all contributors to support one another. It makes a huge difference when we like, comment and engage with each other’s works.

There are some guidelines which help us and you to be successful in having your work published on SheEvolves.world. We welcome all types of storytelling. This may be in the form of personal stories, poetry, short stories, oral stories, artworks, photography and music.
