My name is Farisai Mapepa, hailing from the vibrant heart of Zimbabwe, Kwekwe City, often referred to as the “City of Gold.” In my family, I stand as the only girl amongst three remarkable boys. I wear multiple hats in the world of storytelling: a scriptwriter, director, and an actress. I believe God has blessed me with a unique talent; when I close my eyes at night, I embark on journeys of imagination, weaving together tales of movies, songs, and poems. This is why I affectionately refer to myself as a “dream star.”
My journey began with my very first drama, “Mugetto,” a project that filled my heart with an overwhelming sense of joy. Following that, I ventured into creating other films, such as “Mark of the Beast,” “Dingindira,” and “Chiripamoyo.” The path was challenging, and there were moments when I encountered obstacles and even a few conmen. Yet, my determination kept me going, and even today, I continue to persevere, always striving to reach my ultimate destination, knowing that one day, I will encounter a kindred spirit who will help shape my destiny.
My message to all women out there is simple: never stop fighting until you’ve reached your destination. Women are not weak; we possess boundless strength, resilience, and the ability to turn dreams into reality. Hope is our constant companion, guiding us towards the fulfilment of our dreams.
