As a lover of a good bright red lip, it wasn’t until I turned 30 did the idea of exfoliating my lips begin to hit home. Of all the places on the body and face we take care of, the lips often get neglected. And it makes sense too. After all, don’t we have enough to worry about when it comes to beauty, and skincare? Well fear not. This new routine is not only quick. But also can seriously change how your lipstick, lipgloss or even lip cream goes on. And all it takes is one minute a week. Which is about an hour of your life every two months. I like to do mine when I am doing my usual skincare routine. To start you will need about a teaspoon of sugar, brown or white works well and a few drops of olive oil until the mixture starts to resemble sand.
Apply the mixture to dry lips, remove any lipstick, lipgloss or oils from lips before hand. In a circular motion; massage the mixture all around your lips. Make sure you get to the corners of the mouth as well as the tops of your lips. Leave the mixture on for a few minutes while you remove your makeup or make a cup of tea. Then wipe the mixture off with a clean towel. Apply a hydrating lip oil or a small drop of olive oil to your lips and leave it on. You can do this as often as you like or even just once a week to see results.
