Through the storm
I walked
Two hours every day,
The sky wept, the sun blazed,
Through rain that soaked my soul,
And the heat that dried my dreams,
I walked.
The weight of my dream was heavier than the backpack I carried,
My feet blistered, my heart bruised,
Yet each step whispered:
“Keep going, don’t quit”
Four years in the struggle,
Learning in the shadow of hunger,
Tears hidden behind smiles,
A family’s love, but no silver spoon—
Still, I passed
A symbol of my fight,
A victory in a war I didn’t choose.
Now, in the university halls
I’m still walking,
Still fighting,
Still crying at night,
For the family I carry,
For the dreams I hold in my trembling hands.
The weight is still there,
But it doesn’t break me anymore.
The rain still falls,
The sun still burns,
But I’ve learned to dance in both.
Because after the storm,
There’s always a rainbow.
