My story rising from the Depths of Stigma!!! My name is Chantelle Shangare, and I am proud to be the mother of a remarkable child, a unique hero whose journey began with a tragic accident but whose spirit has inspired a movement.
My son developed cerebral palsy after a life-altering fall into a bucket of water, a moment that shattered my world and reshaped my purpose. In those early days, the weight of stigma hung heavy in the air, a relentless reminder of society’s misconceptions about disabilities.
I felt isolated, lost, and overwhelmed by the challenges that lay ahead. But amidst the darkness, I found a flicker of hope. I realized that I wasn’t alone in this struggle.
There were countless mothers like me, each grappling with their own storms while caring for their extraordinary children, whom I lovingly refer to as “special heroes.” This realization ignited a fire, pushing me to transform my pain into purpose.
Thus, Mothers of Special Heroes (MOSH)
