Over the past couple of months, many of us have been forced to take a lot of things into our own hands. From workouts to food prep and even some self care habits like getting our nails  and hair done. For me this has meant doing my workouts at home and finding new ways to destress. Given the stressful and uncertain times we live in, taking care of ourselves should be a top priority. Whether it’s 10 minutes, an hour or even a half a day. Along with my at home facials using an at home facial steamer I bought a few weeks into lockdown. I have also been foam rolling. As someone who loves a good massage and is currently working out at home. I have found that a few minutes with my foam roller feel as good as a few moments with an actual masseuse.

Not only does it help release knots and cramps from sore muscles. But it is a great way to unwind. If you haven’t tried it, I would suggest getting yourself one as soon as possible and watching some online videos on how to use it. My sessions have helped to release tension in my neck and upper back from being on my computer all day. And also helped to massage sore muscles from working out.

Like any good massage the best thing about foam rolling is that you can change the intensity to your needs and use it just about anywhere you need for as long as you need. So next time you want a way to destress or relieve sore muscles, consider getting yourself a foam roller. Not only are they affordable but their size also means you can use yours anywhere at any time. Personally I like to use mine in the lounge after a workout, or in bed when I cant sleep.
